Show Day: Show Make Up Essentials
As the show season is getting ready to begin I thought I would start a segment dedicated to the show season and what better way to start it then with my show make up bag. I know some people choose not to wear make up and come cross country day I do not because it is pointless, but in Dressage and Stadium I feel it gives me an extra ounce of confidence.
I always start with a good moisturizer because I am going to be sweating all day so I use my Neutrogena Oil Free Moisture for Combination skin as base for my make up. I find that I have to mix two foundations to get my exact color and the two I have found that work great together is Revlon ColorStay foundation ($12.99) in Natural Beige and the Loreal Infallible Foundation in Soft Ivory . I always use long wear foundations because they work great when you sweat. Concealer is my best friend and my Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer ($7.99) does the trick for my pesky dark circles on show day. For my powder I stick with my trusty Revlon ColorStay Pressed Powder ($9.99) in light medium. I have used it for almost two years and will continue until I can find a better pressed powder to replace it.
For my eyes I use my Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion ($20) before applying the Factory shade on my lid and the Liar shade on my crease from my Urban Decay Naked 3 ($54) palette. I hate making a bold statement with my eyeliner so I keep it simple with the Rimmel Exaggerate ($5.99) eyeliner crayon in rich brown. As for Mascara I have fallen in love with Tarte Gifted Mascara ($20). It gives my lashes volume without the clumps most mascara's give you.
Lastly are eyebrows and lips. For those I use Smashbox's Shadow Trio ($20) in Front Row and my lip color I always use my NARS Matte Lip Pencil ($25) in the shade Cruella.
Those are my show day essentials. Like I said before I do not like to wear this for Cross Country as I am sweating a lot more than usual.
